The breeders returned to the original Purple Panty Dropper and Razzleberry cross and substituted Slurricane, which is how the strain got its heavier, syrupy sweetness. HSC's Ben Lind described the process as going into the main lobby of a genetic and picking a different hallway to go down. Purple Panty Dropper itself is Purple Haze × Oregon Grape × Matanuska Mist.
